Is it my AC or my ducts?
If every room is warm, the air conditioner itself is the usual suspect. If the system runs and some rooms stay hot while others are fine, or the air is dusty, the ducts are worth checking. We look at both on a visit, so you do not have to decide first.
What is the most common AC problem?
A failed start part, usually a capacitor or a contactor, which stops the compressor or the outdoor fan from starting. Clogged filters and blocked condensate drains come next. All three are quick to fix once they are found. The AC repair page covers the rest.
What is the most common problem with furnaces?
A clogged filter that makes the furnace overheat and shut itself down, then a dirty flame sensor or a worn igniter. Both are covered on the furnace and heater repair page.
What are signs your air ducts need cleaning?
Visible dust blowing from the vents, dust building up again soon after cleaning, a recent renovation, pets that shed, or a musty smell when the system starts. Air duct cleaning explains when it helps and when a leak is the real cause.
